How Do We Start The Rotation?
The first request slip received by the Host establishes the start of the rotation.
How Do We Mix New Singers Into Our Rotations?
The initial group of new singers turning in a slip will be placed back 3-5 singers from the last singer in the rotation. When we have several new singers turning in slips in a short time frame we will alternate new singers with those established in the rotation.
What If People Submit Slips Under Different Names?
Singers submitting slips under different names to intentionally defeat the rotation rules will be put to the back of the rotation.
How Do We Handle Duets And Groups?
This is by far the most difficult rotation problem. There is no perfect way to handle it. We have decided to count the duet as the turn of the first person's name on the slip. The second name on the slip will still have their place in the rotation. When there are 3 or more names on a slip this will be handled as a group song. Groups will only sing once in the full rotation.
How Do We Handle People Who Grab A Microphone While Others Are Singing?
We gently remind the that they may sing only at the request of the original singer. If the singer does not agree and they still continue to sing, their microphone will be turned off. Please let the host know of your wishes in this situation.
What If Someone Leaves The Establishment And Returns Later?
We call singer's names with as much clarity as possible however if you do not answer your slip(s) are removed. Anyone returning to the rotation after his/her slip has been removed may be placed at the end of the rotation depending upon the circumstances.
How Often Does the Host Sing During The Rotation?
We feel the customers are the show, and come first as they are the most important people in the room. We are not part of the rotation when there are 5 or more singers. We take limited numbers of requests to sing specialty songs, duets, and dedications. The host may sing the first and sometimes the final song of the evening.
What About Changing My Song?
Changing your song is not a problem and of course you may do so at any time you like. We ask only that you let us know as soon as possible about any change.
How Do We Handle Late Comers At The End Of The Night?
We feel it's important to get the people who have been in the club most of the night up for their last song. Depending on the number of singers we have already in the rotation we cannot promise latecomers a chance to sing. We still do our best to try to accommodate everyone.
